We Serve With Purpose
We Serve With Purpose challenges us to examine whether we are merely consuming Christianity or truly participating in it. Drawing from Mark 10:35-45, we encounter James and John's request for positions of honor, only to have Jesus completely flip the script on what greatness means in God's kingdom. Unlike the world that races to the top, Jesus invites us into a race to the bottom - toward service, sacrifice, and humility. The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and if we claim to follow Him, our lives must reflect that same posture. This isn't about earning God's love through our efforts; rather, it's about responding to the love we've already received. The transformative truth here is that serving isn't just something God does through us - it's something God does in us. When we step out of the spectator stands and onto the field of ministry, we discover that our character is shaped, our souls are formed, and we become more like Christ. The call isn't to fill spots or meet organizational needs; it's an invitation to join the mission of reaching people far from God and experiencing the deep discipleship that only comes through participation.
