Faith on Mission

Jun 28, 2026    Mark Johnson

Faith on Mission confronts us with a fundamental choice that shapes every aspect of our lives: will we live by fear or by faith? Drawing from Hebrews 11:1, we discover that faith is not about having all the evidence laid out before us, but about having assurance in what we hope for and conviction in what we cannot yet see. The distinction is profound: fear constantly asks 'what if it doesn't work?' while faith boldly asks 'what if God shows up?' This shift in perspective transforms everything. We explore how biblical heroes like Abraham, Moses, David, and even a young boy with five loaves and two fish demonstrated that God doesn't require us to see the whole staircase before taking the first step. The message challenges us to examine whether we've been asking God for signs while He's been waiting for our first step of obedience. Faith isn't about having confidence in ourselves but in God's faithfulness. It calls us to sacrifice before we understand, to move before we feel ready, and to trust that provision follows obedience. The question isn't whether we'll face obstacles, but whether we'll study the obstacle or study the God behind the obstacle. This teaching invites us into an adventurous life where we stop waiting for ideal circumstances and start packing our boxes in faith, trusting that God will open doors we cannot yet see.
