Week 18: Where Are We Going?

May 4-May 8

DAY 1
Day 1: The Church Is People, Not a Place

Reading: 1 Peter 2:9-10; Ephesians 2:19-22

]The church isn't defined by buildings, denominations, or preferences—it's a people called to belong. You are part of God's living temple, a chosen generation set apart to declare His praises. When you accepted Christ, you became part of something far greater than yourself: a movement of God's people carrying His word to every corner of the earth. Today, reflect on what it means to truly belong to God's family. Are you simply attending a location, or are you actively participating as a vital member of Christ's body? Your identity isn't found in a building you visit but in the people you journey with. You belong to the kingdom.
DAY 2
Day 2: Worshiping Through the Doubt

Reading: Mark 9:14-24; Psalm 42:1-11

The disciples worshiped Jesus while simultaneously doubting—and He didn't reject them. Worship and doubt can coexist because worship isn't about having perfect faith; it's about directing your imperfect faith toward a perfect God. When you're wrestling with anxiety, uncertainty, or questions, don't wait until your doubt disappears to worship. Worship is the weapon that defeats doubt. As you lift your voice and heart to God, doubt begins to decrease and faith increases. Like the father who cried, "I believe; help my unbelief," bring your honest struggles to Jesus. He inhabits your praise and meets you in your tension. Today, worship God not because everything is clear, but because He is faithful even when you're not sure.
DAY 3
Day 3: Rescuing the Lost and Redeeming the Least

Reading: Matthew 28:16-20; Luke 19:10

Jesus' final command was clear: go and make disciples of all nations. Not just the qualified, the popular, or the put-together—all people. God specializes in using the unqualified, the marginalized, the broken, and the forgotten. He recycles lives for His glory. Perhaps you feel disqualified because of your past, your education, or your mistakes. God says you're exactly who He wants. The Great Commission isn't about building impressive churches; it's about reaching lost people and redeeming broken lives. You are called to be the generational curse-breaker, the first believer in your family, the survivor who becomes a testimony. Don't underestimate what God can do through your surrendered life. Someone's salvation may depend on your obedience today.
DAY 4
Day 4: The Divine Nine—Living Like Jesus

Reading: Matthew 22:37-40; Luke 4:1-13

Jesus simplified discipleship: love God, love people, and practice the rhythms He modeled. Scripture, Sabbath, prayer, solitude, witness, community, generosity, fasting, and service—these nine practices aren't religious obligations but life-giving rhythms that transform you into Christ's image. The church has complicated what Jesus made simple. You don't need to be a theological expert to follow Jesus; you need to practice what He practiced. Evaluate your life today: which of these practices are missing? Where have you replaced intimacy with information? Jesus didn't just teach these disciplines—He lived them. When you integrate them into your daily life, you become more like Him, and your witness becomes undeniable. Discipleship isn't about knowing what Jesus knew; it's about doing what Jesus did.
DAY 5
Day 5: Remember What's Left—Jesus Is Enough

Reading: Matthew 28:20; Hebrews 13:5-6

Jesus' final promise wasn't about resources, comfort, or success—it was about presence: "I am with you always." When everything else is stripped away, if you have Jesus, you have enough. He is the treasure that remains when everything else fails. In seasons of loss, uncertainty, or struggle, remember what's left: the eternal, unchanging presence of Christ. He doesn't abandon you at the end of the age or the end of your rope. The enemy wants you to focus on what you lack, but God calls you to remember what you have left. Silver and gold may fail, but if you have Jesus, you possess everything necessary for life and godliness. Today, shift your focus from what's missing to Who remains. His presence is your greatest possession and your ultimate sufficiency.
