Count Your Blessings
This powerful message challenges us to examine our relationship with money, possessions, and generosity through the lens of Jesus' parable in Luke 12. We're confronted with a rich farmer who made a critical mistake: he forgot the source of his blessings. When his ground yielded an abundant harvest, he immediately claimed ownership with words like 'my crops, my barns, my grain.' Sound familiar? We often do the same thing with our paychecks, opportunities, and resources. The sermon introduces us to a practical 10-10-80 system: give 10% to honor God first, save 10% to prepare wisely for the future, and live on 80% responsibly within our means. This isn't about guilt or manipulation; it's about organizing our lives so generosity becomes possible. We're invited to identify what kind of giver we are: a tipper who gives leftovers, a dripper who gives inconsistently, a tither who gives 10% consistently, or a giver who sacrificially goes beyond. The beauty is that wherever we are, there's a next step. The message reminds us that when we count our blessings and acknowledge their true source, gratitude grows and generosity becomes natural. This is about building margin into our lives so we can invest in eternal impact, not just bigger barns or bigger lifestyles.
